Description
Japan is a powerful modern nation. Its land area is about the same size as California, but it has almost 1/3 as many people as the entire United States. The population of Japan, like many eastern Asian nations, has created a need to use for the people to trade widely, and use the land's resources in the best ways they can.
Japan's modern culture is deeply connected to the nation's history, and those connections are still seen in modern-day Japanese culture.
Objectives
Students will identify and explain key aspects of life in Japan and their relation to the five themes of geography.

Mini Lessons
Your mini lesson is going to teach the class about some aspect of modern life in Japan. Just what that aspect of modern life will be is up to you. I have listed some topics, with research links, below. You may use these or another of your choosing. If you choose another, please check first to get that topic approved.
How you teach us is up to you. Many of you may choose to include a PowerPoint, and that's fine. However, you may also choose a poster, a game, or any of a wide variety of techniques to teach us. Please note that teaching is much more than just the method you use to teach.
You may choose to teach as a group. However, no group may have more than three students.
The same topic may only be used once in each class period. You will need to sign up for your topic right away.
Remember >> You need to teach us how your chosen topic has affected life in modern-day Japan.
