Essential Questions

Description 

Japan is a powerful modern nation. Its land area is about the same size as California, but it has almost 1/3 as many people as the entire United States. The population of Japan, like many eastern Asian nations, has created a need to use for the people to trade widely, and use the land's resources in the best ways they can.

Japan's modern culture is deeply connected to the nation's history, and those connections are still seen in modern-day Japanese culture.

Objectives

Students will identify and explain key aspects of life in Japan and their relation to the five  themes of geography.
